Zendaya Is The Youngest Actress To Bag Best Lead Actress Trophy At 72nd Emmy Awards
Actress Zendaya became the youngest star to win the award for best lead actress at the 72nd Emmy Awards for her ace performance in HBO series, titled Euphoria. The 24 year-old actress also became the second black actress to take home the trophy after Viola Davis for her marvelous performance in How To Get Away With Murder in the year 2015. Tears rolled down her cheeks, and she was overwhelmed as she took home this trophy by beating Jennifer Aniston, Jodie Comer, Sandra Oh, Olivia Colman and Laura Linney. 

A video shared on awards’ YouTube channel, had the actress along with her family and friends in a hotel suite, as she accepted the award. In the video she is heard saying, “I usually don't cry. I got through it without letting it take over me. It was a very emotional moment. I still can't believe it myself. It's pretty crazy.” The Zendaya played a teenager who is addicted to drugs and followed by her journey which draws her into sex, trauma and identity issues, and her struggle to come out of it. 

“I just want to say there is hope in the young people out there. I know our TV show doesn't always feel like a great example of that,” she added further.



Also being one of her biggest achievements of her career, she mentioned this moment will be worth cherishing throughout her life, “I think it's moments like this that we really have to hold on to and cherish,” said Zendaya. Elated with her achievement, she further mentioned soaking in this moment and being grateful to everyone “I definitely felt like this wrapping of love around me as I was sitting here. I'm just trying to take it all in. Just being grateful for the moments that we do have of joy and happiness.”
